Erika Malanga

Erika is originally from Hermannstat, a German town in Transylvania (Romania).  She grew up speaking both German and Romanian and graduated high School and technical Drafting School in her hometown.  She moved to and lived in Germany for a couple of years and loved learning about the country and traveling to other countries and cities in Europe.

In 1980, she left Germany and came to America and settled in New York.  She worked for 10 years at Kerns Mfg. Corp. in Quality Control and Engineering.  It was there that she met her American husband, Bob, who is a Viet Nam Veteran.  Bob is now retired, but works with a Research and Development Company doing Medical Research.  They have one daughter, Mikaela, who graduated from UCF.

Erika has been working in 2 Christian preschools for 15 years and loves working with children.  She always has a smile on her face and a laugh in her spirit – a great thing to share with children!  She has worked at Stepping Stones as a Teacher Assistant since the school opened 7 years ago.
